Well one of those rare cloudless nights this winter made for great viewing of the eclipse. Originally I was going for the classic big moon shot. But noticed more and more stars appear around the moon so I pulled back and grabbed more of the sky. I even believe some of those stars may be a planet or two. |

February 26, 2008 - Charles - I had suspected it was Saturn thanks for checking. February 25, 2008 - Rol - Just checked planerarium software for that evening, Charles, and it looks like the brighter 'star' to the left of the moon in your photo is actually the planet Saturn. Nice wide shot! Rol February 21, 2008 - Charles - Ouch, but a great excuse for a VR. February 21, 2008 - Ruhh - {firstgatedreamer} - Nicely shot. I was out last night to shoot this too. I may post something once I have a chance to review the shots. Unfortunately it was so cold I busted my el-cheapo 70-300 sigma lens while adjusting the zoom. Oh well, just an excuse to upgrade to the 18-200 VR I've had my eye on for months! |
